On Tuesday 17 May, the morning talk welcomes Eugénie & Marie who created Eugène Chocolatier.
Eugène Chocolatier is a brand of spreads made from organic ingredients, as local as possible and in a traditional way. Back to the essential. No added oils, nor preservatives nor other superfluous ingredients!
For Eugenie it all began in 2005 when she flew to Ecuador after finishing high school to learn Spanish. She was born into the cauldron of gourmandise and when she discovered the chocolate making process on the spot, her future took on a new meaning! Back in Belgium, she started management studies at ICHEC and chocolate making at Ceria. Disappointed of not having found any spreads that would make her happy, she decided ten years later to jump into the chocolate market and sold her first jar of Choco Noisette. Since then the business and customer base grew, as well as the variety of the offer and the team.
Marie graduated in anthropology at ULB and in environmental sciences at UCL. Not a career path that is very close to chocolate... Fortunately, she has always been a great consumer! After working for 4 years in emergency planning and crisis management, a desire for adventure led her to take a year off to cycle across Canada. On her return, she found herself at ICHEC to replace ... Eugénie during her maternity leave. Since then they have worked together day and night.
